Electricity is essential to the modern world. It keeps our house warm, it cooks our food, and it enables us to veg out in front of Netflix after a hard day at work. However, once a quarter we get a rude shock from the electricity company in the form of our latest bill.

Australia used to have some of the cheapest electricity prices in the world, it now has some of the most expensive. This is largely due to regulations that force retailers to buy wind and solar energy, as well as the large subsidies for renewables that are funded by consumers

The Liberal Democrats believe that everyday hard-working Australians should have reliable, cheap electricity.
