This month, the Newcastle Branch will be joined by former Senator for NSW. David will be discussing his time in the Senate and the future of the Liberal Democrats.
About David:
David joined the Liberal Democrats in 2005, acting as its Treasurer, Registered Officer and administrator until his election to the Senate in 2013 (sworn in 2014). He also wrote the party's current constitution.
As a senator he campaigned relentlessly for smaller government, with his vow to never vote for a reduction in liberty or an increase in taxes striking a chord with many people. As a crossbencher he negotiated many significant deals with the government.
He resigned from the Senate in March 2019 in order to stand for the NSW state parliament, narrowly failing to win a seat.
