This month we welcome as guest speaker Ash Blackwell, who has been a drug law reform activist for nearly a decade. He co founded the first national youth drug policy organisation Students for Sensible Drug Policy, and currently sits on the board.
He has been involved in successful campaigns such as the High Alert Campaign - targeting a police sniffer dog operation, the national campaign for pill testing, and the medically supervised injecting room - amongst many others. For four years he has hel[ed produce a weekly radio show on 3CR from the front lines of the battle to end the war on drugs.
Ash now works in the electoral office of David Limbrick MLC, and will be talking about the current state of play in drug policy reform and the opportunity for the upcoming cannabis inquiry.
