Airsoft

Australia is one of the only countries worldwide where Airsoft is banned in any capacity, with the sport being accidentally and pre-emptively caught up in the wording of our firearms laws. The Liberal Democrats have made progress in this area in Western Australia through Aaron Stonehouse, but the activity is still deemed illegal in NSW. Gelball is a similar sport with a different type of ammunition that is similarly under attack.

  • Treat Airsoft and Gelball like paintball
  • Amend the Firearms Act 1996 (NSW) to legalise the purchase, possession and use of Airsoft and Gelball guns and ammunition
  • Ensure a clearly understandable gap is maintained between toys, sports equipment and weapons on a legislative level
