Summernats Recruitment Success

The LDP booth at Summernats 2007 proved a great success with over 900 new members joining the party over the 3 days between 4 January - 6 January 2007.

More than half the new members are from New South Wales, giving the party the option to now register in that state. There were also significant numbers joining from Victoria, Queensland and West Australia.

Now in its 20'th year, many attendees have grown up with the event, with more than a few returning each year. With motor sports and their supporters often victimised over allegations of excessive noise, environmental damage and pollution, we encouraged enthusiasts to recognise their political clout.

We also officially launched the Party's Roads Policy which was well received.

The attendance at Summernats is part of our continued membership drive across Australia, with the LDP now boasting over 2000 members.
